Green Smoke: Follow-up Question
Hi all,
A lot of other people have asked me "what's the difference between an Affiliate and a Sales Rep account?" at Green Smoke.
So, I asked and this is the response I got. As I suspected, as the more I read the more I understood Affiliate and Sales Rep are the same:
Good question. We get this alot and we will be dealing with this in the upcoming training podcasts.
A sales rep and an affiliate are exactly the same. No difference whatsoever. It's just 2 names for the same thing.
A distributor is where it gets to be different. A distributor orders their own product to have it "on hand" and sells a physical product.
Sorry about the confusion with this issue. Hope this clears it up for you.

A Degree or Experience?
I have been trying to land a job repairing computers for local computer shops. I haven't had any luck, it seems that they are hung-up on degrees. I have to ask, whatever happened to experience?
I always try to keep a positive outlook on Puerto Rico as a whole, outside of politics. We all know, or you should know, that local politics will never amount to anything good for Puerto Rico, but, I digress.
If it weren't for the fact that I don't live on a fairly or highly traffic area, I would probably have my own shop now along with everyone's clients. Yet, for all I know not one of these shops will give me a chance.
I did after all run my own ISP from my living room's apartment in Philadelphia! That's on my resume. I find it hard to believe that not having a degree trumps that, do you?
I have had friends come to me complaining that a local computer shop took a month to fix their computer and then did the opposite of what they asked!
For example, one of my friends wanted the same exact motherboard replacement put into his Gateway computer so that he could use the software that came with his Gateway computer. After a month, he got it back, but it was a totally new non-Gateway motherboard and CPU. Granted, it was a better motherboard, not that munch faster, but he wasn't happy.
And to top it off, I had to take the computer back because it kept restarting. I had to explain to the person who repaired it that the memory type he installed could not be combined on this particular motherboard because the motherboard would only accept 1 stick of the type of memory he had installed (as per the motherboard manual). So we had to exchange two 256 MB sticks for one 512 MB stick. I wonder how long he would had kept the computer again if he had to diagnose the problem?
Guess what this friend does now? Yep, he comes to me. The last time I repaired a computer for him I had to order a motherboard from Canada, because I couldn't find it anywhere else. It was for a 64-bit motherboard for an eMachine that was bought a year earlier at Sams.
His wife was happy and it didn't take a month.
Here's something else I can bring a local computer shop: respect for your customers! Try getting that from a degree.
I can overclock computers and their graphic cards, diagnose problems caused by simple things like a bad BIO's setup, test memory sticks, program, etc., the list goes on.
How long should my resume be, before any of you shop owners get a clue?

Same Scam, New Name
Folks, if you were suckered by the scam that was Wealth Tool Box then stay away from their new scam.
These scammers are so blatant that they really don't care to be outed. They have redirected their old company domain to their new one! LOL!
The new scam is VineFire, they promise to pay you money in the future for all your referring work. But this is where the scam begins.
This is how it works. They promise you big bucks, then they try to get you to part with $5 to get you to upgrade so you can make more. The only thing they really want is your email address! The purpose is obvious, they are collecting email addresses from the unsuspecting to sell that list to spammers who will pay big bucks for it! The slap in the face is the $5 they also take form you!
Something tells me the $5 is to help them cover their hosting fee while they scam you. So you actually pay their scamming operating expenses!
Don't be fooled by this one, just like Wealth Tool Box doesn't exist after all the promises so will VineFire cease to exist as well.
In the end you will be left with an email account full of spam and spam lasts forever!

Wordpress Template Agony
I am going to seriously have to pay someone to create a custom template for me, as I can't really find one that suits me.
I guess I will continue to search for now and see what else I can come up with.
Jon Stewart vs. Jim Cramer
I am sure that everyone has seen last night's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and I am sure you have been watching the back and forth words of war between Jim Cramer of CNBC and Jon Stewart.
Well, last night Jim Cramer appeared on the The Daily Show to make his case. Let me just say that he failed miserably and Stewart hammered him with out mercy!
Just like I have always blasted licensed money managers whenever I get a chance to discuss Wall Street, investments (especially mutual funds), and now the economy—it seems there are no shortages of conversations when it comes to the economy—I have always hammered Jim Cramer and his ilk many times as well.
Licensed money managers are more dangerous than Bin Laden and his followers. You think I am kidding? Bin Laden always wanted to bring down our economy and clueless people these days are giving him credit for that! They say that he got us involved in two wars and bankrupt us! What a pile of shit. The amount of money spent on these two wars is so small when compared to the real budgetary problems we have! The only huge elephants in the room are always the entitlement programs like Medicare and Social Security.
Our economy has tanked due only to greed with the help of President's like Bill Clinton and our self-interested monkeys in Congress.
Yes, you read that right. Bill Clinton! You thought I was going to start with George Bush didn't you? That's why I am so intelligent and you're not! LOL!
You see, Bill Clinton helped do away with laws like the Glass-Steagall Act. Now, you will hear all kinds of backpedaling by both parties, but they are both to blame for the repeal of this law (a huge majority of both parties voted for it). And Bill Clinton was ecstatic when it came time to signing and repealing it. (I just can't seem to find the video of that clip on YouTube.)
The reason licensed money managers are so bad for the clueless is because they give people bad advice because all they care about is making their commission off your invested dollars! There is no incentive for them to give you the correct advice.
For example, no retired person over an advanced age that should be retiring in a few years should ever been fully invested in the markets. That's insane. I have seen the stories of those who have had to go back to work. Have you read the story of that 70-year-old+ given a job by a WalMart store? For this poor schmuck to see his fortune again he will probably have to wait another 15-years, and that's if the companies he was in have not filed for bankruptcy or were bought out for pennies on the dollar. The odds are that he will be dead by then!
There are hundreds of thousands of these stories. I am not a licensed money manager, but if this elderly person had come to me I would have told him to get out 90% of his money from the market and place it in safe and secured places and the rest in municipal bonds generating tax free interest. But because the money manager of the mutual fund he was probably in, wanted to keep making his fee from the old guy, he never gave him the correct advice, there is no incentive to do so and because he was licensed the old fart thought he was in great hands!
Finally, here is my layman's advice to you.
Wall Street is not an entitlement system, it is a traders market. Whenever you hear a licensed money manager trying to get you to put your hard earned retirement money in Wall Street run like hell! There are safer places to keep your money in and Congress, if they really did care, could help private entities come up with a better solution than investing that retirement money in a Casino!

My Video & 3D Hobbies
I guess you can call me a technology buff. I like to dabble in a little bit of everything first hand. Early last year I experimented with stop motion animation. I bought a cheap camcorder at eBay, purchased an ebook titled "Secrets of Clay Animation Revealed," some Stikfas figures to learn with, and even bought Morphvox Pro to give my characters their own voice. Sadly, I have only put together some test videos of just a few minutes, nothing major has happened, yet. One of these days….
That was cool for awhile, and then I got extremely busy and I had to let that go. It is extremely time consuming just to work in a few minutes of video.
Then I got curious about 3D rendering; specifically Poser figures. Last year, around October 2007, I started dabbling in the 3D Poser world. I liked this a lot more than the stop motion animation because I could see results fairly quickly. I have learned a lot in the 3D world that can also be applied to photography and video. The use of lights to light a scene, for example.
Although the 3D figures I use are Poser. I commonly use Daz Studio, Daz's free Poser-like application, and Daz Studio compatible Poser figures sold by Daz 3D.
Just check out my 3D Graphic Novel, Valeria, so you can see for yourself what you can do with 3D software and 3D models these days.
